In case you haven't been following on Twitter and/or on Facebook - which you probably haven't because I've never mentioned where/how to follow - here are a few pictures of our newest creations from Work Pony! The images shown here are of yours truly :) in what we call a Worker. Workers function as a hood, shawl, or simply an added accessory to any outfit. These are great to protect you or your locks from pesty elements such as wind, cold, drizzle, etc. We've also created Workers in a pull-over form which you can take a look at on Facebook in our albums. The third style that we've created are called Ponies which are a great way to add a fun accessory and a little warmth to any outfit - these do not have hoods/shawls, but look amazing over jackets, bathing suits, or just a plain tank top or shirt. You can even CUSTOMIZE your own Worker or Pony!!! People are already eating these puppies...whoops, I mean Ponies, up!

The name Work Pony originated from a time when I was watching "The City" on MTV and PR extraordinaire Kelly Cutrone said "In the fashion industry there are two types of people - work horses and show ponies." It sparked something and I thought about how my business partner and I are somewhat of both...we get down to business and get stuff done, however we are not afraid to have fun and show off our accomplishments with pride -so the name resulted from a combination of both. Hence where the names Worker and Pony came from as well - Workers do all the work and Ponies are basically just for show. Makes sense, right?! Right?! Ha.

Please take a look at our albums on Facebook, "like" us, suggest us to your friends and family, follow us on Twitter, whatever you want to do to show your support and know in advance that all is greatly appreciated. We strive to make great products for you, so feedback is welcome, too!

Your patience in waiting for me to post my next new blog has been ah-mazing while we've been working hard in our sweatshop to have something to introduce to you. Love you! xoxo

Accidental Design

So...perhaps I have blogging commitment issues - sue me. However, you'd be happy to know that I have been committed to designing - yes, I'm also designing now - the most amazing creation to date. And I'm not alone on this one...I'm in cahoots with the most amazing business partner/friend. She and I lost touch years ago, probably around 4 years to be exact, and have since reunited. Since I am a firm believer that everything does happen for a reason I can't help but think that this venture, along with having the pleasure of being around for her engagement to the man of her dreams, was the main reason out of many. She is the most amazing friend and I don't understand how I was without her for so long. When we work together the vibe is bananas - we are on the same page almost always and if I ever knew what having ESP feels like, I would say this is pretty close. Point being...together we have masterminded an innovative, hand-crafted accessory that we truly, truly believe in and that everyone MUST add to their wardrobe. If I could, I would keep them all, but they are all one-of-a-kind and we can't imagine keeping them from you. After all that beating around the bush, I'm sure you've noticed that my lips are sealed, but I strongly encourage you to stay tuned and can almost guarantee that you won't be disappointed once the seal is broken.....

I'm baaaack!

I think I have taken enough time to collect my thoughts, leave one job to be laid off at the next and pursue what really matters to me the most...fashion! Since I last connected with the blogging world I've had a few "come to Jesus" moments leaving me all warm and fuzzy inside, most days. The passion that has encompassed my being my whole life has confronted me in several personal growth seminars that I've taken over the past couple of years, particularly in the one that I've been in for the past 60 days or so (ending in approx 30). I am taking my training wheels off and putting my big girl panties on to JFDI (just f-ing do it); my calling. As a child, I modeled for Macy's, did some runway shows, grew up a bit more to win "best dressed" in middle school and high school, went to school for Apparel Design and Merchandising...only to do nothing in the fashion industry. This little thing called "Fear of Rejection" came knocking on my door recently to tell me to GET OVER IT and I listened - we have since broken up. As a Wardrobe Stylist, I am now performing surgery on closets that are in dire need of help and attempting to resuscitate those who have been victims of their closets. If one's closet is lacking the basics, or the pizazz, to complete an outfit, or 10, shopping is always an option...sounds horrible, I know. Patience is always accepted here as I get a website, specifics, etc. ironed out so I can say I am officially official ;) Stay tuned on the daily for tips, tricks, gossip, critiquing and the like. XOXO

Decisions, decisions!

Although this April '08 cover is clearly last year's news, apparently LeBron James is not. I found this picture appropriate given my plans this evening are to sit on the upper level of the Oracle Arena and watch the Warriors and the Cavaliers ("The Cav's") go at it. Throughout this rainy, uneventful day all I can ponder is..."what am I going to wear?" With a sea of people that big, the cameras probably positioned somewhere beneath us on the lower level and men there caring about nothing other than their beer, the game and Bron-Bron, what does it matter what I am wearing? As it rounds 5pm and a 7:30pm game time, I still have yet to find a clue as to what shirt will be lucky enough to see LeBron James go up against Monta Ellis. Decisions, decisions! Should I go with the sporty-girlfriend look and sport an orange/yellow/navy tee and blend in with the crowd, be tough and don the rival's hideous collection of colors (navy, gold, burgundy) and stand out like a sore thumb, or do neither and go with what I am most comfortable in; my 4" boots with my Frankie B or True Religion Jeans and a t-shirt that I blindly yanked out of my closet, add some accessories and call it a day? Hell, maybe one of those ugly shirts will go with my boots and designer jeans...
